Good - I got a 4.0 this past semester! Very happy about that. I just hope that carries over into the next semester, especially since it's my last one.
Bad - I was Christmas shopping for my best friend's present and I picked up a book in a mystery series that I used to read. And was then confronted by a Weeping Angel on the cover (yes, that exact one). D:

I am, however, discovering why it might not have been such a bright idea on my part to take those two summer classes (though my computer [and me] falling to the ground and breaking [er, just the computer for this one] is a major factor in the stupid timekeeping FAIL there). Oh sure, try and take classes so the degree can be done with earlier...and now I'm going to have to withdraw from one and, thankfully, got an extension on the other (and I'm going to be graduating at the same time, anyway, thanks to them not offering a class I need until next spring. :/ Epic fail, me. Epic fail).
...er, that bit of academic Debbie-Downer-ing aside...YOU GUYS. I DISCOVERED FATAL FRAME BEFORE THE SEMESTER BEGAN, BY WAY OF YOUTUBE LET'S PLAYS, AND AM NOW IN LOVE. Which is funny, considering I don't own a game console, nor am I a particular fan of horror (oh sure, I like the occasional ghost story, but damn, FF takes the type of haunted-house-ghost-story I like and CRANKS IT UP TO ELEVEN. WITH CAMERAS. AND ROPES.and there's another rope! AND BUTTERFLIES. AND ANTAGONISTS WHO HAVE NIGHTMARE FUEL RUNNING THROUGH THEIR GHOSTLY VEINS. *_*). I just really wish that it had a bigger fandom/more fanfiction. And that I could find a complete Let's Play with commentary for the fourth game.

Since I'm not going to be able to sleep for a little while without visions of evil children's toys dancing through my head, I thought I'd get around to posting this. I found this meme-thingy sometime in late December when I was searching for something completely different. To my complete lack of surprise, it was insanely hard paring down what I wanted to write to the allotted amount and I'm still not sure that I did it properly. :/
1.) Write down the names of 10 characters.
2.) Write a fic of fifteen words or fewer for every prompt, using the characters determined by the numbers. Do NOT read the prompts before you do step 1.

Where you'll be confronted with a piece of work or something that you've done in the past and, even though you were by no means good and the piece of work in question was really nothing to write home about, you still had something approaching talent? And you haven't utilized this almost-talent in years, because you've been caught up in trying to be an adult who's trying to make something of her life? And you start to wonder, would this almost-talent be an actual talent if I had practiced it these past years that I've spent trying to be an adult.

Oct. 26th, 2009 11:03 amI really suck at keeping a journal these days. I don't think I've written in my online journal in, like, three and a half months and the last three or four entries in the paper-and-pen journal that I keep in Real Life have been spaced over a period of four or five months, all beginning with a sentence that goes along the lines of "So, I really suck at keeping a journal..." and then never gets further than that.
Which is why it's kind of bizarre that I would actually try to keep a journal at Dreamwidth in addition to the one at LiveJournal (let's not even talk about the InsaneJournal one, acquired as a backup during Strikeout 2007). Though it is kind of cool that I can cross-post with the Dreamwidth one.
Life is the same as always. I was sick for a good three-to-four weeks with what I hope was just an unusually virulent version of the cold (the whole time I was sick, I kept mentally chanting, "It's not swine flu, it's not swine flu, it's not swine flu..."). I'm still coughing, so I don't know what to make of that.
Class is still kicking my butt. Through a combination of sickness and other factors, I've now got a work load that needs to be completed in a miraculous amount of time. Including a presentation! That I haven't even started! Because I've been trying to do the metric shit-ton of assignments that precede the presentation! ::headdesk::
Uh, but aside from that, I've been good.
